First Thought
I'm a regular person. I don't understand how the thinking from the above tweet can exist. When a friend posted it on Facebook, I automatically assumed it was a farce, designed to impassion people and provoke response. That was my first thought. |
Second Thought
He's not a regular person. "How does this guy have a pastoral role in a church?!?! He shouldn't even be allowed contact with other humans." That was my second thought. |
Third Thought
Is he a "regular" person?!?! Finally, I was baffled that Pastor Ethan, or others like him, had jobs as shepherds in churches, while moderate, caring, kind, thinking people don't work in those churches. We have regular businesses and we are not polarizing people. I have been told this makes for boring radio. Boring radio. Not provoking impassioned responses from either viewpoint makes for boring talk shows. Perhaps we must find excitement in kindness and compassion and love instead of outrage. But we are outraged! How can we not be when these sorts of things are reality? When will the fires of ignorance and hatred burn out? My third thought keeps growing. What are your thoughts? |
